A Wrinkle in Time

SOLD

11” x 14”

Acrylic and gouache on panel

I crowd-sourced the title for this painting, choosing “A Wrinkle in Time” as it reminded me of the dark and dream-like cover art on the 1962 novel by Madeleine L'Engle of the same title. The broken reflection of the moon on this made-up bay’s dark surface serves as a reminder to the viewer that the moon’s wrinkled twin is only a representation of the real thing, fleeting and relative to the perspective from which it is being observed.

”A Wrinkle in Time” is part of an exhibition at the Hancock Gallery on view from October 14, 2021 - January 15, 2022.
