Beer on beer on landscapes for Westfax Brewery’s Colorado summer crowler collection

SUMMER 2018

WESTFAX BREWERY loves its mountains. A true Colorado brewery, their tasting room is already adorned with an incredible wooden mountainscape by local artist Steve Fast.

Located near Denver, Colorado in the up-and-coming 40 West Arts District, Westfax is the kind of brewery that’s becoming really good at standing out in a crowd. With creatively crafted brews like ‘Blootylicious’, ‘Rainbows and Cupcakes’, and ‘Crested Brut IPA’ - they needed can designs that matched the boldness of their contents.

When they asked me to be the first artist to show with their new gallery and art-crowler launch, I knew the art selections for both their wall and can designs would need to mesh with their existing themes of BOLD + MOUNTAINS.

From an article published on craftbeer.com about the crowler release and show opening:

Artist Noelle Phares commented on this upcoming event and partnership; “I’m perpetually intrigued by the daunting beauty of the nearby Rocky Mountains – one of my favorite muses. My goal as an artist is always to remind people how precious the natural world is, with the stark geometric elements in much of my work symbolizing the ever-growing presence of humanity pressing in on previously open space. As Denver undergoes quick growth on the outskirts of some of the country’s most pristine wilderness areas, it’s the perfect place to ponder these topics. I’m excited to show a collection of original paintings and limited edition prints at Westfax Brewing Co. as they join the community of businesses that support local artists.”

Special thanks to Brian Haitz of Westfax’s marketing team for overseeing the design and installation of this project, to Anthony Martuscello and Alex Stansbury of Westfax’s founding/brewing team for creating the most outstanding beer in Colorado, and to Westfax’s designer Dustin Cornell for turning my art into badass can designs.
