Tumbling Toward the Sea

30” x 40”

31.5” x 41.5” framed (maple floater)

Oil & acrylic on panel

A scene from the French Riviera, just north of Nice. I loved the arched supports of the train track that stood in contrast to the disorderly shrubbery and tree-tufted slopes surrounding it. The cool, glimmering sea seemed to impart its own gravitational field, pulling the people and plants of the coast tumbling downwards toward it.  Life revolves around the ocean, here.
