A depiction of architect Ricardo Bofill’s renovated La Fabrica in Spains’ Catalonia region, outside of Barcelona. The famed architect was notorious for breathing whimsical new life into previously defunct industrial structures, often from eras rife with brutalist design. He was an expert at using botanical elements and surprising colors to liven up spaces that would otherwise feel quite stark and lifeless.
This painting was part of my 2025 solo exhibition “Signs of Life” at Nahcotta in Portsmouth, NH.
