I painted "Arapahoe" during a trip in the White River National Forest in the Colorado Rockies. Created "en plein air", which means it was painted outside while observing the landscape subject, my hiking buddy was the only one eager to move on. There are many old, patient souls in the hulking peaks and massive pines of this 50+ million year-old wilderness area.
