‘Ahwanee’ means ‘mouth’ in the tongue of the native humans who once lived in the Yosemite Valley region, after the area’s resemblance to an enormous mouth. In this abstract depiction of Yosemite Valley, the hard angular lines and striking shapes are a study of the infamous granite walls of one of California’s most stunning landscapes.
